Happy National Small Business Week

May 2, 2023

Recognizing the big contributions that small businesses make to our communities!

National Small Business Week

Every year, the first week of May is National Small Business Week. This week is a time to celebrate the contributions of small businesses to the American economy and to recognize the hard work and dedication of small business owners.

Small businesses are the backbone of the American economy. They create jobs, drive innovation, and boost economic growth. In fact, small businesses account for 99.7% of all businesses in the United States and employ 47.1% of private sector workers.

Small businesses are also important to our communities. They provide goods and services that we rely on every day, and they help to create a sense of place and community.

This year, National Small Business Week is being celebrated from May 1 to May 7. There are many ways to celebrate, including:

  • Shop at small businesses. One of the best ways to support small businesses is to shop at them. When you shop at a small business, you are putting money back into your community and helping to create jobs.
  • Volunteer your time. There are many ways to do this, such as helping out at a small business fair or event, or mentoring a small business owner.
  • Get involved in your community. Small businesses are an important part of our communities. Get involved in your community by attending local events, supporting local businesses, and volunteering your time.

National Small Business Week is a great time to show your support for small businesses. By shopping at small businesses, volunteering your time, and getting involved in your community, you can help to make a difference.

Here are some additional ways to celebrate National Small Business Week:

  • Follow your favorite small businesses on social media and share their posts.
  • Write a positive review for a small business you love.
  • Attend a small business event or festival.
  • Donate to a small business that is struggling.
  • Start your own small business!

No matter how you choose to celebrate, National Small Business Week is a great opportunity to show your support for the small businesses that make our communities so special.
